Gyratory System – New Harmony (Angular Recording Corporation
Apparently frontman / trumpeter Andrew Blick walked round Reading Festival in 1989 with a tub of water and muesli claiming it was an acid factory. Seems kind of apt for an album of really quite strange electronic music, somewhere between minimalism, Plone, jazz, techno, the Rhys Chatham / Jonathan Kane Septile project and a nervous breakdown. A man like Jared said “it seems like they let systems run it. Like Eno. It’s like maths”. I said, “shut up, Lofty”.
