There hasn’t been much happening on here lately. I suppose because I’m doing so much other stuff which pretty much uses up all the content – and time – I’d put into the blog. I think from now on, this will serve as a sort of archive for other bits and pieces.

So, in summary:

Hickeysonic

My main man Jared and I have reinvented ourselves (again) as Thee Monkey’s Claw (him) and Prince Reelfoot (me), aka Hickeysonic. We’ve got a fortnightly show on Basic FM playing noise and drone and techno and avant garde stuff and bass culture and whatever the hell else we like, basically. It’s good, you should listen. We’re hoping to turn this into the occasional live DJ slot too.

Randy & Earl’s Old Record Club

Our other incarnation as the Old Record Club trundles on in fits and starts, I still do the occasional Stagger Cast and we both write bits from time to time. Not much gigging these days with me in Newcastle and him in Birmingham but we are wheeling out the collection for yet another Glastonbury slot (Friday afternoon in the Pussy Parlure Nouveau). And even Randy & Earl have a new project – Randy & Earl’s Gospel Revue (& Medicine Show). 30 minutes a week of righteous gospel music, again on Basic FM (10.30am every Sunday).

ANOTHER Basic FM show,  just me this time. Two hours a fortnight of reggae, dub, dancehall and more. And no, I WON’T be on the mic chanting down Babylon. I just play rekkids, innit? Blog here, Basic FM page here.
